GSH Hosts Bring Your Child to Work Day

GSH enjoyed opening its doors to welcome the next generation for Bring Your Child to Work Day, creating a day filled with learning, exploration, and hands‑on fun. The experience offered young visitors a behind‑the‑scenes look at how facilities management operates and how teamwork supports everything we do.

Through interactive activities and real‑world exposure, participants gain firsthand insight into the world of facilities management, problem‑solving, and collaboration. The day highlights how diverse skills and teamwork come together to support safe, efficient, and high‑performing environments.

GSH thanks everyone who participated and helped make the day a success. Events like this spark curiosity, encourage learning, and may even inspire future engineers—all while showcasing the people and teamwork that drive GSH forward.

GSH Marks World Earth Day With Community Action

On World Earth Day, GSH reflects on this year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” a powerful reminder that meaningful change often begins with small, practical actions.

To put this message into action, a GSH team steps away from day‑to‑day operations and into the Cambridge sunshine to support a local litter pick around the Eddington estate—one of the University of Cambridge’s newest residential communities and a site GSH is proud to help maintain.

Equipped with high‑visibility gear, litter pickers, and plenty of enthusiasm (and humour), the team works across the estate to collect and safely dispose of waste, helping keep the environment clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.

It is easy to walk past litter—but far more meaningful to stop and take responsibility. That sense of ownership is what “Our Power”represents at GSH: the ability—and responsibility—to care for the environments we support and to give back to the communities we serve.

A sincere thank you goes to Cambridge City Council for providing the equipment and materials that make the day possible, and an even greater thank you to the GSH team members who dedicate their time to making a visible difference. Proof that sometimes the simplest actions create the greatest impact.
