Our History

As a privately-owned company, our first and foremost goal is to satisfy our clients’ needs completely. We firmly believe in providing our clients with custom-tailored and dedicated services instead of a “one-size-fits-all” approach.

Amhuinnsuidhe Castle

A key asset of GSH Group that embodies our history, heritage and commitment to the environment is Amhuinnsuidhe Castle. Located on the Isle of Harris, Scotland, the 19th-century bucolic country estate was built in 1865 by architect David Bryce. For the construction of the castle, Bryce designed it in the Scottish Baronial-style for the 7th Earl of Dunmore, Charles Murray. The castle was originally named ‘Fincastle’ and has since welcomed countless guests over the years to enjoy its remote setting, as well as its world class fishing and hunting.

In recent times, the Castle serves the dual purpose as an environmental center of excellence for GSH Group to trial and implement environmental and sustainability best practices. Utilizing the Castle as a center of excellence elevates the operational value of the facility while providing GSH Group with invaluable research and data to leverage in our process improvement to our clients’ facilities. As a company that believes firmly in corporate social responsibility, reducing the carbon footprint, and leaving the planet better than we found it, Amhuinnsuidhe Castle is a daily embodiment of our collective efforts and spirit in conservationism.
