NJ IFMA Presents GSH Group with Energy Efficiency Award

GSH Group Receives Energy Award at the International Facility Management Association of New Jersey (NJ IFMA) Annual Banquet

GSH Group, Inc., a multi-national facilities and energy management provider throughout the United States and Europe, announced that it received an award for energy efficiency at New Jersey International Facility Management Association´s (NJ IFMA) First Annual Awards Banquet and Networking Gala held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Palace in Somerset. The award is to honor the professional members of NJ IFMA that displayed improvements in facilities by reducing energy and conserving resources.

GSH received the Energy Award for their service at Plaza Nine, which is a 115,000 square-foot office building located at 900 Route 9, Woodbridge, New Jersey. GSH provides its energyplus, energy management program to the facility. As a result, GSH has significantly lowered Plaza Nine´s energy usage through several activities and investments including regular monitoring and various mechanical projects. Some of the energy conservation measures included lighting upgrades, installation of sensors and VFDs, as well as a daily monitoring and adjustment program to ensure sustainable savings. Since the inception of GSH´s energy program almost two years ago, the facility has improved an impressive 30 points on the Energy Star scale.

NJ IFMA´s First Annual Energy Efficient Award was open to all NJ IFMA members for their efforts on facilities in New Jersey. Each candidate was required to submit a thorough application which detailed a property´s excellence in HVAC and lighting, energy reduction, its benefits to occupants and the economical impact. The applicants were judged by NJ IFMA´s Executive Board.
