GSH names Group Director for Safety, Health and Environment
Leading facilities and energy management provider GSH Group plc has appointed Robert Greenfield to the newly created role of Group Director for Safety, Health and Environment.
Robert, who is also in the running to become Chairman of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), will be responsible for delivery of safety, health and environmental (SHE) disciplines within GSH operational centres in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Mainland Europe and the USA.
This appointment reinforces GSH's commitment to Health and Safety across its operating companies worldwide. As a global provider of FM solutions, a truly international approach to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) is fundamental to its ability to meet and exceed clients' expectations. By focusing at SHEQ on a worldwide level, it is able to share best practice and consistently achieve Health and Safety excellence.
Robert joined GSH as National Health and Safety Manager three years ago and was promoted to Associate Director for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality in 2006. Since joining the Group, he has demonstrated determination and commitment to ensure that GSH operates best in class systems and procedures for Health and Safety, and was instrumental in achieving the company's accreditation for ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001, helping to establish it as the benchmark for best practice in the industry.
Robert serves on various government working groups and committees within the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Construction Industry Council (CIC) Health and Safety Committee, and is a Board Member of BIFM as well as Chairman of the BIFM Health and Safety Specialist Interest Group.
